Hagerstown fire chief, deputy chief to retire

Hagerstown fire chief, deputy chief to retire April 13, 2010   The chief and a deputy chief of the Hagerstown Fire Department plan to retire in June. Gary Hawbaker has been the city’s fire chief since June 10, 1985, when he was hired, the city said in a news release. He plans to retire effective June 25.
