      LYNN — Thomas J. Gill, age 83, of Lynn, retired Lynn firefighter, Ladder 1 Fayette Street Station, entered into rest on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. Tom was also a Korean War veteran. He was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Gilbride) Gill. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Elementary School and St. Mary’s Boys High School, class of 1948.
      Busy Week for Crews

      Last week the Crews were busy. on April 15th a reported Structure fire was dispatched on Smith St.  and the first arriving engine 282 reported flames showing. Platoon 2 had a quick  knock down and other crews came in for overhaul. Several residents were checked out but were not transported.

      At 6:21pm on 4/22/14 Group 2 responded to a fire alarm activation at 47 Eugene O'Neill Dr (The Day) for a fire alarm activation. The fire alarm panel showed sprinkler activation and members encountered a hallway filled with smoke. A fire was located on the mezzanine level. BC Sargent added the remaining on duty units and also requested the Sub Base FAST Team.

      House Fire on Byng St.

      An early-morning fire destroyed a house in Coquitlam Monday morning. The fire broke out just after 5 a.m. causing extensive damage to the house and carport. The older wood frame home is located at Latimer Avenue and Byng Street. The main floor of the house was gutted and two cars outside were also burned. Everyone from the family of four inside the house escaped without injury.
