Fireworks in the city limits are illegal except for the ordinace listed below, remember the penalty for a first offense is a city ordinance violation and a fine of $100 to $500.

      To all Local 1826 Members, There have been several charity events (Dixie Roadhouse nights, Golf Tournament, and on line donations, etc.)  over the past couple of weeks to assist Blaine Burrell fight MS. Collectively there has been roughly $28,000 collected from these events, Thanks to all that have participated. Blaine flew to Israel last Friday and we'll send out the updates.

      811 Run at Lake Calhoun on 8/15 to raise awareness of the importance of calling before you dig.  All proceeds from this run will be split between Minneapolis and Saint Paul Firefighters Operation Warm.  Last year, the 811 Run was our largest single supporter and donated over $7,000 to our mission in Saint Paul.  Say thank you, by helping build this fun event.

      City Chapter CBA Ratification Vote is Extended

      The City Chapter CBA ratification vote was held today in accordance with Article II of the IAFF Local 244 Constitution & Bylaws. The Constitution & Bylaws require 51% of total eligible members to cast votes for a CBA ratification to be valid. Out of 613 eligible City Chapter IAFF members, we had 289 who actually voted.

      It comes with great sorrow that IAFF Local 152, Southern Missouri Professional FireFighters announces the passing of Aaron Goddard.  Aaron began his career in firefighting with the Springfield Fire Department in 2003, and was a proud member of IAFF Local 152 for his entire career and Secretary-Treasurer from 2009 through 2012.  Aaron leaves behind his wife and two daughters.

      Full-time firefighters in the city of Novi have a new contract that looks to benefit both sides. A three-year agreement (2015-18) was officially approved June 22 by the Novi City Council. The new contract was reached before the current one expired in the coming weeks, which both sides were happy to see get done.
