Five new firefighters were sworn in this morning at city hall. This marks the first new class of recruits since 2008. They will now spend the next 14 weeks at Harrisburg Area Community College were they will train and earn their certifications. A-35 Assisting Bridge Workers 09/01/15 - New London Fire Fighters
On August 25th the New London Fire Department received a call for bridge workers that were trappped below the Gold Star Bridge Southbound. Workers were inspecting the bridge from below using a snooper truck when the apparatus failed. Pictured below is FF Kurt Fetzer moving into position to rescue the trapped workers. Fire Damages Apartments in Charleston, W.Va. 08/25/15 - IAFF Local 317
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One person was taken to the hospital after an apartment fire, Sunday evening.
It happened at the Terrace Park East apartment building along Kanawha Boulevard, about 4:00 p.m.
Fire crews tell WSAZ that the person taken to the hospital was suffering a panic attack. No physical injuries were reported.
