Two alarm fatal fire on Summit Avenue

On April 18th 2012 at 1240 hours Washington County dispatched a box alarm at 334 Summit Avenue for a reported house fire with persons trapped. Intial dispatched units were Engine 5, 2 and 4. Truck 1, Tower 26 (Halfway), Utility 3, Battalion Chief 3 and Paramedic 754. Utility 3 was the first unit to arrive on scene and advised they had heavy fire to the top floor and attic area

Kitchen fire on Summit Avenue

HAGERSTOWN—
The Hagerstown Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating a fire that started in the kitchen of an apartment Monday morning at 220 Summit Ave., Fire Chief W. Kyd Dieterich said.
Dieterich said the fire, which was reported at about 9 a.m., took firefighters only a few minutes to get under control

Engine 3 assists Longmeadow on second fire in as many days

A 6-year-old boy who was playing with a lighter in a home at 11829 Patrick Road caused a Wednesday morning fire that sent his grandparents to Meritus Medical Center, according to Maryland State Fire Marshal Deputy Chief Jason Mowbray.
Richard and Helen Stull were in stable condition at the hospital on Wednesday afternoon, Mowbray said
